How To: Textured Hair Without Heat

I'm sorry if you have already read this post, but due to Blogger maintenance, it seems it was published but then removed?!

As the warmer days are approaching, I tend to get lazy with my hair and makeup. In the summer, I prefer to avoid using heat on my hair as much as I can, but the good news is that you can still get nice textured hair without the damage!

You can do this on wet or dry hair. The results on wet hair will be more structured and defined curls, and on dry hair, the curls will be more natural and loose. I personally prefer to do it on wet hair as I have naturally super straight hair without the slightlest curve in it.

You can also prep your hair with a curl enhancing mousse or spray.

  1. Put your head upside down, and gather all your hair in a ponytail at the very top of your hair (it will prevent "hat hair"). Gently twist your hair around your finger.
  2. Take the twisted ponytail and wrap it on itself to form a bun, on the very top of your head. The more tightly you wrap it, the more defined your curls will be.
  3. Secure the bun with a loose hair elastic (do not use a too tight elastic as it can cause breakage to your hair).

And now, you are ready to go to sleep!

In the morning, gently remove the hair elastic and tadaaah!

The results: lots of volume and texture!

I like to define the waves even more with a texturizing spray or a volumizing mousse.

You can also use hairspray if you have naturally super straight hair, like me. It will help the waves stay through the day (which I didn't do, and you can see the waves have almost completely disappeared at the end of the day, but my hair is still nicely textured and voluminous).

Thanks everyone for your comments, but due to Blogger maintenance, I lost them all ):
