FACE atelier

At FACE atelier, you are your beauty icon. We believe that being beautiful is all about being the best that you can be. FACE atelier refuses to present an image of how we think a woman should look. Instead, we strive to provide you with sophisticated and versatile makeup that helps you look and feel beautiful. FACE atelier is makeup that simply works. And works simply.
Who is the FACE atelier woman? It is anyone who wants to look and feel her best, and knows that makeup is one of the many tools that women have to accomplish that goal. It is someone who more often than not, wants to start the day by putting her best face forward. Looking good is the best revenge against the trials and tribulations, large and small, that women face every day.
The founder of FACE atelier, Debbie Bondar, herself fifty years old and the mother of two grown daughters, is committed to helping women of all ages realize that there is nothing wrong with them as they are. Rather than trying to defy their reality, she urges women to embrace it.
Look good, feel good, be kind to yourself, and celebrate who you are.
The ideal FACE atelier woman is you.
I was very kindly sent some sample products from this brand to review.
Ultra Loose Powder ($35.00 for 1.59 oz / 45g)
FACE atelier’s Ultra Loose Powder is a micronized, double sifted powder that disappears upon application but works all day long to reduce shine and minimize pores.
Translucent
I'm fairly new to face powder (I bought my first one very recently) but I like to use this loose translucent powder instead of foundation when I want to feel a little more put together. It's also great to set concealer, which usually tends to disappear on me after around 1 hour, so annoying!
This powder is really translucent once blended, as you can see from the pictures above. I didn't feel like it really minize my pores, but I have yet to find a product that truly fulfill this promise. As for reducing shine, I would say this powder is not totally matte but it does prevent oily spot on my face.
Reommend? yes
Lip RX ($22.00 for 14 oz / 4g)
An elegant remedy for sore, chapped lips.
Indulge your lips with silky-smooth Lip RX, which lightly tints as it moisturizes and protects them from the elements. It provides organic ultra-violet protection, and is chock-full of anti-oxidants and essential oils. Available in three tantalizing sheer shades.
Naked
This is immediate relief when my lips are super chapped and nothing else won't do! I was actually quite surprised at how effective this balm was, as I never have high expectation when it comes to lipbalms because of my super dry lips. This product really sooth and moisturize my lips quickly.
I tested this Lip RX in the shade Naked and it has no color, however, you do have to be careful to really spread it on evenly on your lips if you don't want to be left with a grey cast.
I was sent a sample in a jar, but if you look at the website, this product actually comes in a sleek lipstick case, which is great.

Lipstick ($22.00 for 14 oz / 4g)
Seal it with a kiss, using FACE atelier’s high performing lipsticks, available in matte, satin or frost finishes. FACE atelier Lipsticks are extremely well-pigmented ensuring long-lasting results. They are also hydrating and moisturizing due to the high content of emollients in the formula.
Pure colours that endure the test of time. Twenty-seven shades in seven colour collections.
Coral Reef
This lipstick is soooo gorgeous! I'm really picky when it comes to lipsticks because I'm really pale and I don't want my lips to scream "I'm wearing lipstick!", but Coral Reef is the perfect coral shade for me.
It goes on smoothly, and even though my lips didn't feel especially moisturized, I was happy to see that the lipstick didn't dry them out.
Recommend? yes
Lip Glaze ($24.00 for .5 fl oz / 15ml
Impossibly shiny and smooth as glass, our non-sticky, moisturizing formula is a cinch to apply with its sanitary, slant-tip applicator. Highly concentrated and pigmented, long-lasting Lip Glaze gives a high-shine effect while hydrating and mositurizing your lips. And as per usual (for FACE atelier), a little goes a long way.
Size matters! Our Lip Glaze is up to 60% larger than other lip glosses. Small wonder that it's an enduring PRO Favorite.
Peach
This lipgloss is truly shiny, pigmented and non-sticky, however, I find it a little frosty and too shimmery for my liking. As you can see from the picture above if you look closely, you can see that it settles into the fine lines of my lips, making them more apparent. Looking at the swatches from the website, most shades appear to have shimmers in it.
I'm not sure if it's really moisturizing, but I'm glad it's not drying.
Recommend? no
Shimmer ($19.00 for .15 oz / 4.25g)
Glisten, glitter, gleam. Sexy, sultry, sinful. Colour your eye in ways you never dreamed using these ultra-fine, perfectly pigmented loose Shimmers. Our highly pigmented Shimmers won't flake, are non-creasing and long lasting. A little Shimmer goes a long way - apply sparingly for a subtle wash of color, or apply more for a dazzling display. Thirteen shades in two color collections.
Burnt Copper
I have said it before, I'm not a fan of loose eyeshadow as it's always a mess to use, but their biggest advantage is their pigmentation, and this one doesn't fail the test! It's just gorgeous!
This Shimmer is really finely milled and it goes on smoothly. Howver, it did crease on me if I didn't use a primer.
Recommend? yes
Transforming Gel ($26.00 for 0.5 fl oz / 15ml)
SIMPLY MIRACULOUS. And miraculously simple to use.
Only FACE atelier has a gel that magically transforms any loose or pressed powder into a pool of easily applied, lasting colour that sets and makes a lasting impression.
L - R: Burnt Copper applied without and with the Transforming Gel
This Transforming Gel is multi use: you can mix it with a Shimmer to intensify the color and make it last all day (like I did with Burnt Copper in the picture above), you can transform an eyeshadow into a liner and you can also use the Transforming Gel on your brows.
When used with a loose eyeshadow, it acts as a primer and ensure the color last all day on the lid.
