Cosmetic Botox Treatment For Skin Lifting.

BOTOX is the commercial tradename for Botulinum Toxin Type A that is released from the bacteria Clostridium Botulinum that causes botulism food poisoning. However, while it can cause significant health problems as food poisoning, it cannot be contracted from cosmetic treatments. BOTOX is the cosmetic form of botulinum toxin. The toxin blocks the nerve impulses, temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles while giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance. There are two types of wrinkles. Static wrinkles are superficial lines and wrinkles that appear at the corners of the eyes and in other areas on the face, and Dynamic wrinkles or muscle wrinkles go deep and form where muscles move the face the most  i.e around and between the eyes and around the mouth.
BOTOX is generally used by individuals in the 35 to 60 year old range.
When injected into muscles, Botulinum Toxin has a local effect. It blocks transmission between the nerve endings and muscle fibres around the injection site to cause weakness of the nearby muscle.
This treatment is used to treat frown lines, deep forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet, and general facial wrinkles. It can also be used for diminishing wrinkles on the chest, lessening the appearance of neck cords and to minimize some skin sagging in the facial area.
Firstly, your doctor will determine where to administer the injections by examining your ability to move certain muscles in your brow area. The doctor might apply ice to the area a few minutes before treatment- it causes the vessels in the skin to constrict which helps reduce bruising, and it helps decrease the small amount of pain associated with multiple injections. Then the doctor will administer several tiny injections of botox directly into the muscles of your face.
The entire botox injection procedure takes approximately 10 minutes and does not require anaesthesia. Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Each treatment session can take from a few minutes to around 30 minutes, depending on the extent of the treatment. Results last for about 3 to 6 months.
Possible side – effects of this treatment may include headache, flu-like symptoms, temporary eyelid droop, nausea, squint/double vision, twitching of the eye, facial pain, redness at the injection site, muscle weakness.
