Review: Annabelle Cosmetics Pigment Dust
Posted on Thursday, February 11, 2010 by Beauty Skin Care Natural
left: Golden Pink, right: Chiffon
These loose eye shadows were a part of my prize from the Annabelle Holiday Season Express Giveaway (read my post about it here.) I have them in the shade Golden Pink and Chiffon.
EDIT: "a girl at Annabelle Cosmetics" kindly informed me of the following by leaving me a comment on this post:
From "a girl at Annabelle Cosmetics" @ Gaby: your assumptions were right. The Pigment Dust - Chiffon will be officially disconitnued within 10 days. With every bad news come a good one! We will be re-launching the Pigment Dusts as the MINERAL Pigment Dust and doing a shade update all at once. Keep an open eye for the 3 NEW shades! Just a note: since the new formulas are paraben free, you MUST mix the powder with water in a separate container. Do not use a damp applicator in the new pots since the are devoid of preservatives.
Annabelle Cosmetics Pigment Dust
Price: 7.25$ for 0.08 oz / 2.5 g
The claims:
Let there be light! These highly pigmented loose eye shadows are made with fine pearl particules and minerals to create incredible shine and shimmer.
Use just a little for a more subtle effect or apply wet in a bold stroke for incredible luminescence. Available in convenient and fuss-free compacts, they contain the most beautiful shades. Be as mild or as wild as you wish! How to use:
Pigment powders can be used two ways: dry or wet. To apply dry, simply sweep across the eyelid or dot on specific areas to create an iridescent effect. Use either your fingers or the Annabelle A-8 Small Shader Brush.
When mixed with water, it transforms into a rich-coloured liquid liner with remarkable stay-on power. Simply mix a little Pigment Dust with a few drops of water in a small container and apply directly to skin. Use as a dramatic eyeshadow or a dazzling eyeliner. Use the Annabelle A-14 Angled Brush to trace a fine line just above the upper lashes. You'll be amazed at its long lasting colour.Ingredients: Imidazolidinyl urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben. May contain: Carmine, Chromium oxide greens, Ferric ferrocyanide, Iron oxides, Mica, Silica, Titanium dioxide.
Pros:
- highly pigmented
- true to the color in the compact
- doesn't fall all over my face
- stay put all day long, with or without primer!
- color stays true all day long
- I find the compacts are little hard to open (too thight)
- could be too shimmery for some (but not me!)
*I have to say that I haven't tried to use them wet yet.
You can see some FOTDs I made with these pigments here (Chiffon) and here (Golden Pink).
Chiffon
Chiffon is a really pretty iridescent yellow.
Golden Pink
(Sorry, I still don't get why Blogger turns my picture upside down -_-)
Golden Pink looks like two eye shadow into one: a soft pink one and a yellow/gold one.
Chiffon is not listed in the available shades as it will be discontinued in 10 days.
from left to right: Solar, Golden Pink, Azur, Prism
Repurchase or recommend? yes, absolutely! =D
Rating: ★★★★★/5
Disclaimer: I received these products as a prize from a giveaway, and the fact that they were free absolutely does not influence my opinion.
