NYX Champagne and Caviar Palette: More Neutral Goodness!
Posted on Thursday, February 18, 2010 by Beauty Skin Care Natural
Hello there, beautiful!
It seems like Christmas has not come to an end to me as I have not come any closer to review things I got for Christmas. This review is way overdue but it is better late than never, right? My secret Santa was so generous to include a palette that I wanted for so long: NYX Champagne and Caviar! To be honest, she was the one who started it by posting a gorgeous FOTD on her blog using this palette. It made me salivated up and down the blog since then :)
So, what's so wonderful about Champagne and Caviar? First of all, the palette looks very sleek and reminds me a lot of Bobbi Brown palettes.
Thank you, Secret Santa for fulfilling my wishes. I hear this palette so hard it hurts :)
How about you, my beautiful readers/ Have you tried Champagne and Caviar, the palette? What do you think?

It's a sleek plastic palette that looks so professional
On top of that, you get 10 eye shadows for $8-9
Once opened, it looks like this
This palette contains 10 skin-flattering neutral colors for all the neutral lovers out there!
A close-up at the colors
They remind me of the MAC holiday smokey eyes palette :) but of course, Champagne and Caviar is a lot cheaper and has more colors!
The swatch, for those who want to see how the colors look
As usual, NYX eye shadows are pigmented and finely milled. The colors in this palette are very soft and silky. The texture is a lot softer than the regular single eye shadows NYX produces. However, I find the pigmentation is not as intense as the regular ones but I guess it is not such a big problem because I blend them together a lot. This palette is very useful: I did smokey eyes, demure sheer looks, brown looks, and one color wash looks with ease. For those who are seeking for a neutral palette that can do many things, Champagne and Caviar is perfect for you. The size of this palette is probably about the size of your check book and you can stash it in your bag with ease. I think Champagne and Caviar palette is fool-proof since whatever way you do your eye makeup, you can't do wrong with neutrals.
If you calculate the cost per eyeshadow, it's around 80-90 cents and the size is very reasonable. Each eyeshadow is a lot bigger than those came in 2009 MAC holiday eyeshadow kit (and they're cheaper, too! Sorry, i mentioned that already!)
Where can you get it? At Cherry Culture and other online makeup boutiques. If you're lucky enough, you may find NYX at your local drugstore, too.
Thank you, Secret Santa for fulfilling my wishes. I hear this palette so hard it hurts :)
