What services are offered? 21st-century weight loss and functional and metabolic medicine

What business did it replace (or what was previously in this location)? None

What was your profession or career before opening this business? Doctor of chiropractic and physical therapy.

Have/do you own other local businesses? "Have in the past owned TherX Rehabilitation Center, Specialist's Rehabilitation Center. Jim currently owns DME Consulting Group."

Fun fact about your business? "We are the only business in Solano County to offer 21st-century weight loss, which includes a conservative fat loss, body sculpting laser, detoxification, functional medicine labs, nutricenticals to promote weight loss and appropriate exercise."

What is the most unique thing about this new business? "Unlike other weight loss programs, we offer an integrated approach to weight loss to offer a permanent

change."

Your company's mission or philosophy? "Weight loss is a secondary benefit of achieving optimal health."

How would you describe your management style? "Unlike other doctor's offices, we take time with our patients to understand their needs and reach their goals."

Why did you choose to open this type of business, or become involved with this industry? "Have been in the field for 31 years. Decided it was the right time to formalize a weight-loss program, since it has always been a secondary benefit of improving health and so many people fail at weight loss because of failure to prioritize their health goals."

What are your least and most favorite things about your business/industry? "Least -- most weight-loss programs are a scam that is detrimental to an individual's health and will fail in the long run. Most -- helping people improve their health."

What are your company's biggest challenges and how do you plan to tackle them? "1) Getting people to realize the true reasons for weight gain; and 2), overcoming the billions of dollars spent on advertising that makes people fat. By being successful with our patients -- they will spread the word."

How would you describe your clients? "People who have failed at weight loss, people with chronic health challenges not helped by the current medical model."

What life experiences best prepared you for this business/job? "Having serious spinal issues, finding out I was gluten-intolerant, 31 years of seeing overweight patients with multiple health issues."

Who do you think is the most savvy business person? Warren Buffett

What local business sets an example you'd like to follow? Dr. Daniel Amen, a physician.
