X Factor contestants go on diet

Gary Barlow has put X Factor contestant Craig Colton on a strict diet, according to reports.

The biscuit factory worker has lost a stone after the Take That star's nutritionist visited the X Factor house to give Gary's group - the boys - healthy recipes.

Craig, 22, told The Sun: "I mentioned to Gary that I wanted to lose weight so he put me on this diet. It's strict, but I'm full of energy. I lost a stone in a week and more than a stone since the judge's house in Los Angeles."

Fellow contestant Marcus Collins, 21, said: "He has given us a healthy eating plan. It is smoothies for breakfast and slow releasing energy - snacking on almonds instead of sweets. He also advised us to work out."

Gary told earlier this week of the depression he suffered after his weight spiralled to 16 stone, 11 pounds after Take That split.

But the other judges appear to be taking a different approach - with Tulisa Contostavlos cooking her groups a roast dinner and Louis Walsh reportedly telling his acts to stay as they are.
