Dr. Pepper has launched a new soda and this time, it's for the guys. Apparently, there has been a notion that men don't drink diet beverages. So what do health-conscience males drink when they're monitoring their weight? They drink Dr. Pepper Ten, the newest diet beverage that has only ten calories.

What makes Dr. Pepper Ten different than Diet Dr. Pepper? For one thing, the marketing campaign is quite different. The advertising campaign is distinctly geared towards guys as they claim "Its not for women", the design of the cans are also different thanks to the gunmetal grey with silver bullets packaging.

There is nothing wrong with creating a new beverage to sell but I do think the whole marketing ploy is a gimmick. That's like they're implying that women can't drink Dr. Pepper Ten and men can't drink Diet Dr. Pepper. A beverage is a beverage no matter who drinks it and I've seen plenty of guys drink Diet Dr. Pepper. What do you think of the company's marketing campaign ideas?
