Katherine Pearse has been promoted to vice president of Business Development for Medi-Weightloss Clinics located in Naperville and Hinsdale. Prior to assuming the vice presidency, she was the clinic manager of the Medi-Weightloss Clinic in Hinsdale for which she handled clinic operations, staff, financials and patient relations as well as marketing and advertising.

"Kathy continues to serve our patients with diligence and compassion which is second to none," said Bill Pienias, managing partner of Chicagoland Medi-Weightloss Clinics. "The goal of Medi-Weightloss is to bring real long lasting weight loss results to real people in the real world. We are a much better company because of Kathy and her commitment to that goal."

Pearse has a master's degree with a concentration in International Management from DePaul University, Chicago. Her Bachelor of Science degree is in Business Administration from California Coast University, Santa Ana.

As a freelance marketing and promotions executive, she had an ongoing U.S. marketing agreement with Hallett Design Studio in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She developed English language marketing materials and website content, contractual agreements and client interface.

Pearse has a long history with Hinsdale. She was the principal and owner of Chain of Events, Inc., having founded the Hinsdale-based company in 1997. It was a corporate event planning business serving small and mid-sized firms in the Chicago area.

Prior to Chain of Events, she was a senior staff representative for United Airlines, and before that, she was a regional vice president with Mexicana Airlines. With Mexicana, she was the only woman to hold a vice presidential position. Also she was one of five female VPs among the world's airlines.

Pearse was recognized by Mayor Richard Daley and the city of Chicago for her successful efforts to promote tourism between Chicago and Mexico. In addition, she was inducted as the first woman Rotarian in the world in 1986 by the Pan American Rotary Club of Chicago.

Medi-Weightloss Clinics offers a physician-supervised, custom weight loss program. Patients eat nutritious food purchased at the grocery store. The program focuses on four main areas: medical, nutritional, physiological/human kinetics, and private consultations. Patients lose up to 5-10 pounds the first week and up to 20 pounds the first month.

"My objectives are to support the clinic owners in their efforts to cultivate the highest possible standard of patient experience," Pearse said. "I will work to maintain and perpetuate a culture within the Chicagoland Medi-Weightloss Clinics of clinical excellence, professional courtesy and personal warmth, and I look forward to sharing these opportunities with others as our clinics expand throughout the Chicagoland area."

The first Medi-Weightloss Clinic in all Chicagoland opened in January, 2011, at 543 Chestnut St., Suite 110, Hinsdale. The second Chicagoland Medi-Weightloss Clinic opened Aug. 22 at 1879 Bay Scott Circle, Naperville.
