BOCA RATON, Fla. -- On the cover of the children's book "Maggie Goes on a Diet," you see Maggie holding a pretty dress dreaming of her thinner self. This book isn't in local book stores yet, but that isn't stopping dozens of Youtube site dedicated against it..

But this book maggie goes on a diet isn't even on local store shelves yet. but that isn't stopping these dozens and dozens of youtube sites dedicated against it

What's the big deal? Why all the controversy over a kids book that hasn't even been published?

"This book takes a very complicated issue and makes it very simplistic," said Boca Raton-based childhood obesity expert Dr. Sasson Moulavi. "It tells them people are going to make fun of you if you are overweight and you are no good if you are overweight," he said.

Dr. Moulavi is one of very few people across the country that got an advanced preview of maggie goes on a diet.

"The thing that bothered me the most is it showed other children making fun of overweight kids. Overweight children already know that they are being made fun of," said Dr. Moulavi.

Dr. Moulavi says children's weight loss is complicated and at his Smart for Life clinics he changes the weight loss formula for every child. That's his biggest objection to this book, he says it's a one size fits all and that doesn't fit all.

"I don't think the book has bad intentions, but it's written by someone that doesn't deal with children who are overweight he doesn't understand how complicated it is," said Dr. Moulavi.

The author of this book has spoken out saying he just wanted to write a book that would help children and had no idea about the controversy it would cause.
