With Frieze 2011 kicking off this week, Grazia Daily is getting in the mood for some art - and what better way to get started than with Acne? Last night, we stepped into the Dover Street store to sip champagne with the coolest crowd we've ever seen, EVER, to celebrate the launch of the Swedish mega brand's new collaboration with Daniel Silver. Ginormous African printed fabrics by the London-based artist adorned the white walls and his fascinating sculptures acted as uber-hip décor. As for the capsule collection, it was showcased over four floors and perfectly complemented the evening's tribal vibe.

Inspired by his art works, Daniel's distinctive prints popped up on slim fitting cropped trousers, maxi skirts and sarong-style draped dresses covered in a shell pattern and relaxed tapered tops perfect for a day on the beach – or indeed, in the city. As for the bold brights, they seeped into lambskin motorcycle jackets splashed with ombre, saffron yellow sheer blouses and high-waisted silk trousers in sunset red (WANT). We can see the printed pencil skirt becoming an instant FROW hit and we defy Alexa Chung not to fall in love with the strapless dress with a full skirt and cute pockets (we sure have).

In fact, Acne-lover Alexa put in an appearance at the event, wearing a monochrome print shift dress and admiring the pieces with her pal Nick Grimshaw. Daisy Lowe and her Dr Who boyf, MattSmith, also arrived for a first look at the collection as did the lovely Gizzy Erskine and girl-about-town Bip Ling. But the surprise celeb spot of the night was Mike Skinner, he of The Streets. You can always count on Acne to throw a decent bash, but this one, with the beautiful exhibition, art world crowd taking over the fashionista space AND the bonus of a bit of famous-spotting, had us walking back from their Dover St venue feeling pretty smug indeed!
