Could you be Portsmouth's Biggest Loser?

Our weight loss challenge is back, giving you the chance to shape up with a fitness and food regime that promises to turn your life around.

We're looking for eight News readers to be put through their paces by the personal trainers at 24/7 Fitness for this year's challenge.

Based on the popular TV show, our chosen eight will be given the help and support they need to lose weight.

At the end of each week they will take part in a gruelling fitness challenge – and the person who has lost the most weight at the end of eight weeks will be crowned winner.

Last year's contestants lost more than 19 stone between them.

And now we're looking for a new line-up of recruits who will be ready to start their exercise regime in January.

Our chosen eight will get:

n Free eight-week use of the gym at 24/7 Fitness – either at Gunwharf Quays, or Fareham – including personal training, nutrition advice and diet plan, plus weekly weigh-ins and challenges;

n A T-shirt and food diary;

n An assessment from a chiropractor and treatment, courtesy of Paul Zalick, at 24/7 Fitness;

n Free sports massages throughout the challenge, courtesy of Paul Hickman from Trisports, at 24/7 Fitness;

n A free dance lesson from Dizzyfeet Dancing;

n Free healthy juices to support the nutrition programme from Zin Bar;

n Free weight loss wraps from The Zone Beauty.

Operations director, Emma Hine, says: 'They are literally getting thousands of pounds worth of goodies just for being one of the eight and the lucky winner will win a year's free membership at 24/7 Fitness, along with some other great prizes.

'Ideally we're looking for people with more than three stone to lose.'

You must be over the age of 18 to take part and be able to commit to the eight week programme.

Men should weigh no more than 25 stone and women no more than 20 stone.

To be considered, write in no more than 250 words why you want to take part.

Send it, along with a head shot photo of yourself, to Sarah Foster (features), The News, The News Centre, Hilsea, Portsmouth, PO2 9SX or email sarah.foster@thenews.co.uk
