Eau Claire (WQOW) - The WQOW Weight Loss Challenge is winding down. Members of the more than 25 teams taking part have until Wednesday, September 14 to complete their final weigh-in.

One benefit of taking part was a month-long membership at the Eau Claire YMCA. Staff there have some parting advice to keep the pounds off. Personal trainers say mixing up your workout routine will ultimately improve your results.

"Keep things interesting. Don't do the same things all the time because you're going to get bored with it, your body's going to get bored with it, too. You're not going to see results," says Michelle Steege, YMCA intern.

"One big thing is to something that they enjoy. Whether it's a habit such as basketball or racquetball or even if it's playing with the kids, there are things that we can do that we can absolutely make it applicable," says Jamie Hoover, personal trainer.

More than 400 people in the Chippewa Valley are taking the challenge, competing for healthy and fun prizes. WQOW News 18 will announce the winning workplaces in late September.
