My Makeup Blog: 2010 in Number

Hi everybody,

It seems like yesterday that I wrote the last post of 2009. Now, I am sitting here contemplating on what to write for the last post of 2010. This year has been a good year so far and I'm getting emotional to see 2010 coming to an end. It has marked a significant change in my life as well as in my blog. For the first time ever, I had an opportunity to do what I wanted and guess what? I actually put myself together and did it.

And now, the year in numbers:

Posts per month in 2009 and 2010

Compared to 2009, I actually wrote 15 less blog entries. The explanation is simple: the GILTY Pleasures Blog Tour disintegrated. Therefore, I no longer have a weekend post. While I do love my 5 post a week schedule, a lot of you guys want something on this blog during the weekend. Therefore, I need to come up with something to fill in the void during the weekend. Let's wait and see what I have in mind for the weekends in 2011, ok?

I can't recall what happened to me during July but I didn't post that much. Was I sick? I think I was. However, this year I have been more productive during the winter months (January, February, October, November, and December.) This is a really strange behavior. I thought I was more active during the summer months. Well, the data just proved me wrong!

Last but not least, here are the things I learned during 2010:

1. I can write a lot!

50,000 words in November and many other words during other months. While I don't keep track of my word count, I guess it's around 200,000 words or more. One word at a time does add up in the long run.

2. Belly is not just good looking. He is also a smart kitty

I am not going to elaborate on this point, it would make me sound like a Crazy Cat Lady. You already saw what he did this year. Belly is a really smart cat. Also, is emotional IQ is off the chart. He can sense when I am sad and comfort me.

3. I can haz friends offline, too!

When I was in grad school, I had a lot of colleagues but not many friends. This year, the close friends I had left me one by one, because of job or school opportunities. One of them got terminal cancer and passed away in April. I mourn her every single day. Thankfully, God doesn't give me something I can't handle. I found a group of writing friends and now, I have a social life that could make my 2008 self jealous. I guess that is one of my biggest achievement in 2010.

To rehash, 2010 has been an awesome year and I am very sad to see it go away. I would like to have this opportunity to thank all of you who have been there for me during this year. Also, I want to thank the many publicists and companies that furnished me with their products. Without all of you, my life and blog could have been a lot more boring. So, thank you so much!

Let's take one last look at 2010 and have a big smile on our faces to welcome 2011.

Belly's here for the last post of the year. Wow, I've been a fixture of this blog for a while. Without my presence, My Makeup Blog could have disappeared into oblivion. I know, I am gorgeous. Looking back at my 2010

Well 2010 definitely is a pretty busy year for me. I am ocupied almost all the weekends and have quite an exciting lifestyle! And with a blink of eyes, its at the end of 2010 and the world is welcoming the new 2011 year!

So let's look back how has my year 2010 been !

January 2010


For the first time in life, I won a makeover competition organized by Lancome & Cosmopolitian magazine . I was one of the top 5 winners out of 80 participants, appeared in the magazine for the first time and won a prize worth RM500 !!! And I love this makeover by Zamri (Lancome Chief Makeup Artist) and later I bought the Lancome Pop & Petrol palette which was used in my makeover ! And absolutely love it till today

February 2010

This is Clarks Women's Bahama Beach Pep Toe Wedge in Red Cherry Blossom

Bought my 1st most expensive shoes from Clarks warehouse sale ! However RM170 was well spent because this is super comfy and pretty shoes that I am still wearing it till today..and looks almost like new!!

March 2010


It was my first 100th followers and thank you all of you for making this happened!! Your support is important because you are the reasons why are keep blogging. And today I would like to record my thanks to the 334 followers! Love you all!

April 2010


Went back to Hong Kong for the 2nd time ( the first one was in late 2008) with my family and friends! Thanks to AirAsia, with less than RM168 for round trip ticket.. I am back to Hong Kong for more love !!!! Love the food there, places and more importantly SHOPPING!!!



And if you have not been to Shenzhen , China then you would not truly experience what is shopping all about !!! In Hong Kong, I bought tons of skincares which last year probably a year and in Shenzhen I bought clothes/shoes like there is no tomorrow!

Try and found this Shiseido White Lucent Intensive Spot Targeting Serum does wonder on my skin!! My skin clarity increased by double!!! This is expensive but it works!

July 2010


Got my first frame glasses from Guangzhou after 10 years wearing frameless glasses! And I like this glasses among the other 2 I have, so easy to hide myself under this glass when I am lazy to do my makeup for the day (shssss.....) !

August 2010


Well officially announced myself that am a shopaholic in an interview with Oriental Daily newspaper. Apart from that,got a super duper cheap weekends getaway in Bangkok - RM200 inclusive of round trip air fare and hotels for 2nights inclusive of breakfast!

This is the new Maybelline New York Smooth Minerals BB Cream with SPH 26 PA+++ is in Malaysia market for almost 2 months. I have read a few online reviews and they sound promising ! So when Loreal Malaysia sent me this for review in this blog, I was thrilled!

Below are the picture taken under the sunlight - for more accuracy in color.

My review : The BB cream able to cover my redness , even my skin color and surprisingly my pores appear smaller. My face stay matte, not oily after whole day application and in fact gives a very nice glow and overall skin appear smoother.

Note : You do not need to apply a lot of this as the texture is creamy.

p/s: Excuse me for my Dracula eye dark circle

Unfortunately like most BB cream , this color shade appear to be a little fairer to my yellow skin tone (or maybe I applied too much?) . And I might take my friend Thera suggestion that fairer foundation/bbcream to be used at the night time so it wont look too obvious.

Remember the earlier on, I mentioned this bb cream promises 8 greater result and I do think it achieved most of all except. So this bbcream is something worth trying especially with the price so affordable!

Pros : Cover up pores & redness quite well, even up skin color, giving face some glow and yet not oily after whole day , price reasonable

Cons : color appear a little fairer to my yellow skin tone

Maybelline New York Smooth Minerals BB Cream is priced at RM22.90 for 18ml.
