I've been wanting a Notebook for university for a long time now, and I finally found the one with the help of my boyfriend:

It features a 10.1" display, 160GB hard drive, Wireless N, and plenty of inputs so you can stay connected to your peripheral devices. And with an Intel Atom processor and 1GB system memory, you'll have the power to work for up to 8 hours on a single charge.

Product Features

The Intel Atom processor and 1GB system memory offer the ideal power for this mini companion. This dynamic duo helps you work with basic applications and surf the Web while the system runs fast, smooth, and for as long as 8 hours on a single charge (dependant on usage).

  • The 10.1" Led-backlit display is ultra-vibrant so everything you see is crisp and clear, while keeping the N150 compact enough to toss in your bag
  • Store your most important files on the 160GB hard drive
  • Wireless N lets you explore your online world at any wireless hotspot
  • 3 USB ports let you connect with compatible devices to work or play
  • Quickly transfer content with the 3-in-1 media card reader
  • Pre-installed Windows 7 Starter Edition

Picture and description from Best Buy.ca

It's not the most beautiful - I would have like it in black, but the only color available was this ugly pearly white -  and it's absolutely not the one I would have chosen if it wasn't for the battery life (it lasts up to 8 hours). I got it on sale at Best Buy for $319.99 instead of $349.99, which is a pretty good deal for a 6 cells. In fact, the main deciding factor for me was the battery life because I need it to be able to last through a day at uni.

I don't like the red stripes either -_-

See how small it is? And it only weights 1.24 kg!

Of course, it requires some practice to get used to the tiny keyboard (it's a 83 keys). I'm typing so fast that I always make mistakes as I often press two keys at once.

And besides that... it has a hard drive capacity of 160 GB, so of course I won't be using it to store pictures.

Learn Eye Massage To Have Stunning Eyes In Just Few Steps.....

Our eyes are the most expressive part of our face. Even while dressing up for a party or an occassion we always pay maximum attention to get a perfect look for our eyes. But, I would say its not always make up that would make your eyes look good....a regular care of the eyes is also neccessary.
Few months back, I had the problem of dark circles around my eyes and also the skin af my eyelids was a bit loose. All this happens due to poor nutrition, lack of sleep and improper blood circulation. So, its neccessary to have a balanced diet and, of course, you should atleast have a sleep of 7 hours. Now regarding the blood circulation..I would suggest you to go for eye massage regularly. As I have mentioned earlier, even I had these problems, so I started having eye massage regularly and believe me I am very much satisfied with the results.
Here I have explained the steps of eye massage which can really make your eyes look stunning.
Materials Used : Cleansing lotion, cotton, facial belt, napkin, under eye cream.
Procedure:
1) Massage with cleansing lotion for about 10 - 15 mins.
2) Wipe it off with cotton to cleanse the face.
3) Apply under eye cream on the eyes and massage according to the following steps.
4) With fingers on whole eyes in clockwise and anticlockwise direction (slowly).
5) With ring finger in circular manner on eyelids and lower part of eyelashes.
6) From inner side of the eyebrow to the hair line with a pressure point.
7) From inner side of the eyebrows to the next of the first pressure point.
8) From inner side of the eyebrows to the temples with a presure point.
9) Pinching the eyebrows.
10) With first finger in upward direction pulling the eyebrows upwards.
11) Keep your fingers on the out ends of the eyebrows and then move inwards towards the nose with pressure and complete the whole circle covering the eyebrows.
12) Cupping.
13) Keep your fingers on the temples with pressure.
14) Move towards the nose with pressure to the eyebrows and on the eyebrows in circular manner to the temples with a pressure point.
Massaging your eyes would really give your eyes a better look.

So Not Cool

So, after a week of running around like a chicken with its head cut off, I finally got a cold. Although it sounds like I am asking for it, I am not. I hate being sick, it makes me feel needy. And since I don't have anybody around to act out, I am going to manifest my neediness online.

I wish I could say I felt a cold coming. In retrospect, I might. It was a strange feeling as I came home from the library on Saturday. It was as if all the energy drained out of my body. As I collapsed into my bed, I also felt a little bit depressed. I blamed it on something else, a phone call that didn't go well.

Sunday morning came. I woke up and felt the whole room swirling around me. "Oh boy," I thought, "I'm having a cold." Then I ran to the bathroom to puke. Nothing but a little bit of liquid came out. My stomach was empty. I am really having this cold. And you know what the funny thing is? I actually felt cold. It was like little shivers running up and down my body.

I had enough energy left to boil me some water, grate some ginger, and made a ginger tea. I found some cold medicine, took two pills as instructed with the hot ginger tea, and passed out. When I woke up again, the woozy feeling was not there anymore but it felt like I have rocks on my brain.

So no, this is not cool. Not cool at all. I conjured enough energy to go grocery shopping because there's nothing worse than being starved when having a cold. Besides, my ginger supply was running low.

Now, I'm sweating bucket as I'm typing this. My head still hurts. I hate having a cold. But again, I don't get sick that often. But still, I hate it.

Here's a cold remedy for those who might need it. As my mom always says, have some ginger and lemon available. You may never know when you'll need it. Jump and learn more.

Hot Ginger Lemonade: a Cold Remedy

What you need: some ginger root, preferably the size of your thumb; half a lemon or lime (use more if you want a sour drink); hot water; some honey (or sugar); a pinch of salt.

How to make it:

  • Boil some water (1-1.5 cups)
  • Grate, smash, or thinly chop your ginger root to a pulp. Since I have a grater, I prefer the first method. It's a lot easier. Make sure you get about a tablespoon of grated ginger (more if you want a really hot drink.)
  • Squeeze the lemon into a cup, add your grated ginger, then pour water all over them. Add honey or sugar to sweeten it, then add a pinch of salt.

Usually, I would wait a couple of minutes to get the ginger essence steep out. Also, I don't want to drink a scalding hot lemonade. Then, I would be very brave and drink the whole thing.

Now, here's a word of warning: it burns and I'm not kidding. If you're not a spicy eater, you will get the greatest burn of your life. However, my mom chugged this down my throat since I was five so I have no problem drinking it. I prefer to take my cold medicine with water afterwards and go to sleep. Whatever ailment you have, this hot ginger lemonade will knock it out of you after you wake up.

Repeat as many times as needed. You will feel better in no time.

If you have stomachache, grated ginger with hot water and a pinch of salt works wonder, too. Again, just be really brave and chug it down your throat. You will feel better in no time.

So let me go and take another nap before my med wears off. Belly is fine but confused. He wants to play with me but I can't. I don't want him to have a kitty cold. He's kind of sad when I told him I could not play with him. But still, he ate his cat food though. That cat is an enigma sometimes.

Also, please check out my friend Trisha's new e-book called "30 Day Ultimate Beauty Makeover." It is a very interesting and informative book. Until September 15th, the book is available for downloading at $8 USD. After that, it will go up to $13 USD. I will do a review of this book as soon as I get better. This cold had better go away!

Thank you stepmom!

My boyfriend's mother went to The Bay this week-end and she found some great stuff on sale. She also got those two fragrance samples for free and she gave them to me:

Daisy by Marc Jacobs Eau de toilette spray:
Radiant and charming, Daisy is a sparkling floral bouquet capturing the vintage edge of the violet.

I'm not a fan. This fragrance is way too light for me, and it's the same as smelling a flower. Nothing interesting, really.

Davidoff Cool Water Woman Eau de toilette:
The first fresh aquatic fragrance born of nature's most shimmering, most luminous essences. The zesty freshness of blackcurrant and honeydew blend with aquatic florals to create this radiant, sensual scent.

This smells fresh and citrusy. It's a nice change from my usual sweet fragrances!
