RIP Dorothé ♥

My dear Dorothé left for a better place yesterday.

I spent all day at the beach yesterday and when I came back, I noticed he wasn't moving when I entered my room. I immediately thought it was strange, because Dorothé was a super nervous rat; he would jump at any sound I would make!

I touched him and... he didn't moved. I was too scared to look at his face, not wanting to see his eyes wide open and lifeless... so I ran upstairs to tell my mother, crying.

She wrapped him in one of her old pajama and tied a ribbon on it. My boyfriend, my mother and I buried Dorothé with the flowers in front of our house:

He didn't seem sick or anything (I had two rats before him and they all died of tumors - which affect 70% of female rats), and he wasn't that old (I don't remember his age, but my gerbil is older than Dororothé). His death was really sudden, which didn't helpd me. I cried all night, but I'm glad my boyfriend was there to support me.

Dorothé was a shy and nervous rat, but once he was in someone's arms, he would calm down and often fall asleep. I had allergies but I didn't care. I would like to have another rat in the near future.

p/s: Does this look similar to Clarins White Plus Hp Range, which is also using sea lily extract as the key ingredient to stop the formation of dark spots right from the roots. But I think its different species of lily by looking at both flowers. Anyway Lily is my favorite flower, so IF anyone who wants to give me flowers, get me a bouquets of lilies or skincare with lilies extract or maybe something smell like lily!

Happy Memorial Day!

Hi everybody,

Today is Memorial Day, a day to remember U.S military soldiers who died in service. For us, we get a day off to spend time with families and do all the wonderful activities together. Memorial Day also signifies the start of summer shopping. I went to the mall yesterday and it was very crowded.

Recently, it dawned on me that I really could not shoot good pictures. The quality of the pictures at My Makeup Blog is not so wonderful and I really want to change that. My initial reaction is to blame my camera (Canon Powershot SD590 IS.) It's basically a dinosaur since coming to the market in 2007. Now, Canon probably already launched the Powershot SD-eleventy bazillion IS or something like that but the thing is, my camera still sells. It's a decent point and shoot for beginners and it does wonderful things to me and my blog. But God forbids, it's no D-SLR.

According to a whole lot of people on the internet who actually know a lot about digital photography, you should not blame your cameras because cameras don't shoot pictures. People shoot pictures.

Earth to Dao, duh!

And then, I received this newsletter from Etsy discussing about pictures and one thing sank: my lightning sucks big time! Since I need to use flash, and my camera doesn't have the best flash in the world, my pictures ended up with over-saturated lights.

But that's easy to fix: with proper lightning and auto white balance in the manual option, I got this picture:

No flash, just a little bit of cropping and a tiny bit of color correction to make it look like that. Nice, right? The colors are so true in this picture. What you see is what you get.

So, please don't blame your camera. Read the manual and play with lightning. And I know, I'm not an expert in this aspect. I have a lot to learn but just a small change makes such a huge difference.

Youth'10 Goodies !

Well I been to Youth's expo since 2o08, that time the scale of the whole event was much more smaller compare to this time. And this time around I think they managed to get more sponsors and supports from big companies as well as the Government. Good jobs ! This is a very good event because it encourage and gives young people ( youth) a platform.

When I reached the entrance the Youth'10 photographer shoot a picture of me and pasted it on the wall of fame? And I'm allowed to take down my own picture on the way out . :D

Got 1GB free pendrive from filling up a form regarding our lifestyle.

Redeem Laneige's sleeping mask by showing the booklet and was given some other samples as well.

I got myself a pair of Freshlook Illuminate daily lens for trial and my bf and friend went and filled up a form and redeemed for me too *happy*! And unable resist good offer I bought normal disposable monthly lens at RM69 ( buy 1 box free 1 box) by showing them my old student card :D (hehe still manage to cheat with my young look!) and got another extra daily color lens for free. I got Freshlook Illuminate, grey, green and hazel color looking lens to play with now!

A lady just passed me a sample when I walked passed by , then she basked me if I wanted to buy the trial set... quite worth it but I reminded myself again and again I have tons at home!



Filled in a questionnaire and got a box of Libresse sanitary pads ! Libresse is a new brand in the market and they are promoting their brand.

12 pieces ! Wow how generous, well got to try all types of sanitary pads ! First time come across having so many samples for sanitary pads!

p/s: Took part in Canon creative photo shoot, where they took our picture with fish eye setting. I love and proud my nose because its so small, now I hate this picture because it is so damn big ! okay lah you all please laugh.. i already expected that! I purposely post this hoping to make you laugh.. :P

Quickly applied KFC Snax card when the queue is not crazy long, got a pack of chips, a bottle of ice lemon tea and a complimentary letter (entitles for burger+wedges+drink). I think been 6 months or more haven't stepped into KFC or MCD,

I love this song. Is it lame? I don't care. In my opinion, Miley Cyrus has such a unique voice, just like Avril Lavigne and Rihanna. Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely not into teen stars like Justin Bieber (I could punch him!) but I can recognize true talent. I only hope Miley will not turn into a slutty girl like so many did before her.
