Chic Orchid FOTD

Hi everybody,

I'm so sorry for the delay, it's raining cats and dogs today! For today's post, I am going to put some of Formula D's eye shadows to work. With mineral makeup, seeing the swatch is one thing and getting them to work is another. I wore these eye shadows for more than 10 hours with rubbing my eyes and crying in between. At the end of the night (around midnight), they still looked vibrant.

The look.

I tried to look fierce but obviously it didn't work :)

What I used

    • Eye shadows: Pink Bunny, Isis, Belle, Bella, and Ink.
    • Blush: Lotus
    • Powder: The Ultimate Powder
    • Foundation (coming soon to your favorite Etsy shop!): Dao's shade
    • Eyeshadow Primer: Art Deco eyeshadow primer
    • Eyeliner: MAC Blacktrack (upper lash line), Wet n Wild Idol Eyes liner in Pixie
    • Lipstick: MAC Viva Glam VI SE (the one with Fergie)
    • Various face and eye brushes

    Eyes

    • Apply Belle from the inner corner of your eyes to 2/3 of your eyes using ELF eyeshadow brush.
    • Using the same brush, apply Isis to the outer 1/3 of your eyes and blend with Belle to blur the edge
    • Emphasize the outer-v with Ink using EcoTools crease brush, blend lightly
    • With the same brush already wiped clean, pick up Pink Bunny and apply to the crease for an extra sheen.
    • Using EcoTools highlight brush, apply Pink Bunny to the inner 1/4 of your eyes on top of Belle for a extra glow
    • With the same brush, apply Bella to the area underneath the brow bone to highlight.
    • With an eyeliner brush, apply Blacktrack to your upper eyelash, as close to the lash line as possible, and wing out at the end.
    • Optional: use Pixie to line your lower lashline to make your eyes look more awake.
    • Curl your eyelashes and apply mascara
    Semi-close eye
    Face
    • With ELF Studio Powder brush, apply The Ultimate Powder to your face
    • Apply your mineral foundation to your face, using the same brush
    • To blur pores and minimize shine, apply The Ultimate Powder on top of your foundation to set it

    Cheeks
    • With Sonia Kashuk flat top blush brush, apply Lotus to your cheeks
    • Use StudioTools dual fiber brush to apply Bella as a highlighter to an area higher than your cheekbone for an extra glow.
    Lips
    • Apply MAC Viva Glam VI SE to your lips and if you want a shiner pout, add lip gloss on top

And that's how we do it!
I wore a pair of earrings my friend Sooji gave me. It fits this look very well. If you noticed carefully, I experimented something different with my eyes: I drew a tiny triangle at the inner corner of my eyes to make them look more pointed. It looks strange in real life but in film, it does not look so bad. I don't know if I like it. The triangles just look different, I guess.

I hope you'll have a wonderful weekend. If you haven't visited my shop yet, please take a look. I hope seeing how these colors work will motivate you to support my shop :) I really really hope so!

Home Remedies To Get Rid Of Smelly Feet.

Feet smell because of the bacteria that feeds on sweat. Here are some ways as how you can avoid this embarrasing problem......

    1) Dry your feet completly after having your bath or washing them.

    2) Use foot powder and antiperspirant sprays.

    3) If you wear sneakers regularly, alternate between two pairs, to make them dry.

    4) Wear cotton socks instead of synthetic socks. Cotton socks should be made from absorbent material.

    5) To get rid of bad odour, rub you feet with turnip, raddish, or ginger juice.

REN Mother's Day Workshop in Tangs Pavilion

Received this email from Tangs last week but just read it today !

So I called up Tangs around 10am, shock when Tangs customer service personnel has no idea on this workshoand started passing my calls around. And found out REN SA not at work yet!!

So spoke to Sharon, Tangs Customer Service Manager, she aware of the workshop but has no ideas of the details. Fortunately she is kind enough (after hearing my frustrated voice) to check and called me back. The only thing she found out (since SA still not at work yet!) is to buy RM100 voucher(fully redeemable) and attend the workshop. Door gift RM150.

Only 1 hour later REN SA called me to tell me the full details. This is hand massage workshop and door gift is not full size but rather its travel set size according to the SA, and there are 2 sessions available.

    But I think I'll give it a miss !

    Anyone going ?

Tongue in Chic: Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation Giveaway

Much like a magpie bird, I find myself very partial to shiny things. Sequins, diamonds and glitter gets major thumbs up in my directory of awesome things and if it were not for the (literally) glaring fashion faux pas, I would go out dressed like a glowing disco ball. However, there is one bodypart I want no shine on - the face. Carefully constructed wardrobe picks fall apart upon the sight of shiny, oily faces. Luckily Rimmel offers salvation in the form of their new Stay Matte foundation. Featuring up to 12 hours lightweight protection from unwanted glossy sheens on faces, Stay Matte offers a surefire way to stay cool all-day.

The latest shine-control foundation from Rimmel contains core ingredient extracts from cotton, chamomile and cucumber that help deliver a flawless finish. The cotton element helps control excess oil while the chamomile essence soothes and calm red skin and cucumber complex clarify pores.

The result is the Stay Matte foundation that continuously delivers a dewy natural-looking finish for up to 12 hours.

Formulated without additional fragrance, oils, parabens or harmful ingredients, this is one product that is great for all skin types. It's also available in five different shades to suit various skin tones.

However don't just believe the hype. Give the Stay Matte foundation a try! We have 50 fullsize samples to give away to the first fifty people who can tell us what is the duration of coverage the Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation is able to provide daily. Just be one of the first fifty to answer and the foundation is yours to keep. It's really that simple!

    NOTW + OOTDs + Wal-Mart haul

I had a calm week-end, as always. Saturday night, I went to Sara's house to have breakfast with her and some friends (we wanted to have a real breakfast in the morning but Sara couldn't, so we did it at night instead!) We ate eggs, toasts, bacon, beans, breakfast potatoes and breakfast sausages, and we drank smoothies. Yummy!

Friday and Sunday, I relaxed outside all day as it was warm and sunny. I read, painted my nails. Sunday, I ended the day by taking a bubble bath. I noticed that my father bought plain yogurt at the grocery store, but nobody eats plain yogurt in the family... I figured out it was a mistake so I decided to do a face mask with it. I will do a post about it soon!

Here, take a look at the bad sunburn I got on Friday (and a previous of the yogurt mask):

But not only did I got a sunburn, I also tanned a little - and I never tan usually!

Can you see the tan lines where my tee-shirt sleeves would hit? LOL.

For my NOTW, I searched through my mother's stash and discover a silvery nail polish without label. I used three coats to achieve the opacity I wanted as it contains more glitters than color:

    without flash

I also painted my toenails with Annabelle Nail Enamel, but I have no idea of the name of the shade because my mother removed the label on the cap.

I'm really due for an at-home pedicure LOL.

I can't believe it snowed yesterday! And it was around 3°C... X_X

Balou was almost begging to go play outside as he loves the snow so much, but he would have been all wet and dirty... Poor baby!

At least I let him go pee after his dinner =P

I shaved my legs during the weekend to be ready for shorts Monday, but although the day started warm and sunny, it ended breezy and cold. I wore sandals to school, but I'm glad I had pants and a vest on! As it was freezing and snowing Tuesday, I decided to wear my super warm leggings with boots (not sandals, this time LOL).

    cami: Stitches
    leggings: eBay
    boots: Giant Tiger

I also got my coupons by P&G and webSaver.ca in the mail yesterday.

What interested me the most was the $1 and $3 off any Clairol hair dyes (my favourite is Nice 'n Easy, and it's currently on sale for $5.98 at Wal-Mart) and the $1 off L'Oréal Go 360° Clean (I'm obsessed by the Scrublet!).

If you don't know P&G brandSaver and webSaver.ca, you should definitely take a look. Sadly, the coupons are available to Canadian residents only.

So today I went to Wal-Mart to use some of those coupons before they expire (on June 21th, if I remember well?):

    I got:

Clairol Nice 'n Easy in 123 Nautral Soft Black (left) and 131 Rich Dark Brown (right): I was a little lost because the look of the packaging was changed, but I figured out there wasn,t much of a difference between these two shades, so I decided to give a try to Soft Black for the first time.

123 Natural Soft Black (left), 131 Rich Dark Brown (right)
    with flash

123 Natural Soft Black (left), 131 Rich Dark Brown (right)
    without flash

Can you see a difference? I can't! (Please don't mind the red on the box on the left, it was a pink post-it reflected on the box)

Bonus pack of Pond's Dry Skin Cream (left) and Pond's Cold Cream (right): I actually cheated a little... We had the choice between three bonus packages: x2 Cold Cream, x2 Dry Skin Cream or x2 Deep Cleansing and Make-Up Remover, but as I haven't tried any Pond's cream before, I didn't wanted to buy two of the same product... so I ripped open two packages and exchanged products, and the cashier didn't notice LOL. I'm a real bad girl, I know =P But I'm happy because I've been looking for a cream cleanser for a long time now, and I also have dry skin, so I hope that Dry Skin Cream will works!

Topcrop Sun Crunch for Rat/Mouse: I usually buy the one for Hamster/Gerbil since it seems to contains more interesting things for my rat and my gerbil, but it was out of stock (as always).

Iams ProActive Health for Large Breed: We are supposed to feed the doggie wether ProActive Health Active Maturity Large Breed (because he is almost 11 years old) or ProActive Health Weight Control Large Breed (because the veterinarian says he is slightly overweight), but they are harder to find. Today, it's because the Active Maturity Large Breed was out of stock, and the Weight Control Large Breed wasn't on sale (the one I bought was a little less than $10 off). And anyway, Balou has been eating this one all his life.

This morning, I woke up to this:
Stupid snow! It's almost May! Go away!

I wore a scarf to go to school this morning, but when I came home around 1:00 PM, it was a little sunny and around 12°C. And look at the forecast for Friday to Wednesday:

At least we will have some sun! Yey!

    Here's my OOTD:
Barefoot! You can see my red toes (=

    top: Stitches
    cami: Jean Bleu
    skinny jeans: Sirens

Balou loves the snow so much that he didn't wanted to stay inside! I let him go play in the little leftovers of snow. But the thing is, he didn't want to stay outside alone xD

I'm sorry, I chose the "compact" option by mistake, which lowers the quality to allow the video to be sent by email -_- I also tried not to talk because I hate my voice on camera xD Oh and I stopped the camera because Balou was about to poo LOL.

Oh yeah, and I have a little something coming up for you soon! Stay tuned! It's a surprise =P

    Formula D Minerals Swatches

    Hola!

El Gato Supremo was supposed to blog today but this morning, I found him outside sun bathing. I think he is aiming to play the Chesire Cat in "Alice in Wonderland 2" or something. He's been working out and getting tanner to look good. With this rate, he will be called Mr. Six Pack Abs instead of Mr. Belly :)

Do not disturb! I'm enjoying nature, yo!
With Mr. Belly Gato Supremo out of commission, I guess I'd better share the swatches of the eye shadows and blushes available at my shop, Formula D Minerals.

Blue quad: Baby Blue, Something Blue, Midnight, and Cookie Monster
My favorite of this quad is Cookie Monster. It is bright and cheerful, like our beloved Sesame Street monster who's not Elmo. Baby Blue is very cute and Something Blue is simply gorgeous. You can use Midnight as a liner color, too!

Pink quad: It Girl, Quirky, Pink Bunny, and Kaleidoscope
I love It Girl a lot, it's my favorite pink eye shadow. It's very wearable and does not give you that haughty, tired red eye look.

Purple trio: Isis, Belle, and Serenity
Isis was named after my friend's nickname. Both Isis and Belle and wearable purple. Serenity is frosty and very pretty. I guess it is more of a cool winter color but when combined with Isis and Belle, they make a very pretty look.

Neutral quad: Granite, Golden Bear, Smoke, and Sandy
My neutrals are not the boring types. They are shimmering, sparkling, and a bit brighter than your regular neutrals. Sandy is an interesting color and I wish you could see it on my skin. Smoke is very soft with a hint of green. Golden Bear is a pretty golden brown color and Granite is a dark semi-matte color.

Highlight quad: Peach &Cream, Daisy, Bella, and Summer Sun
This is an interesting highlight quad for those who want yellow, pink, and peach highlight colors. Peach and Cream is a light peach color, Daisy can be used as a highlighter or a regular color, Bella is a pretty gold-silver duochrome color, and Summer Sun is a light pinkish gold shade.

Green quad: Sparkling Green, Ms. Olive, Golden Olive, and Greenbacks
This is a gold tone green quad. My camera does not capture the colors well but Sparkling Green is just drop dead gorgeous and shimmery. Ms. Olive is a dark olive gold color. Golden Olive is lighter than Ms. Olive and it is a duochrome color. Greenbacks is an apple green eye shadow that screams "spring is in the air!" :)

Dark quad: Blue Steel, Ink, Gilded Glam, and Molten Lava
If you are into smokey eyes and dark mineral eyeliner, please get these colors. Also, "Blue Steel" is a fun smokey colors. You don't need to be Derek Zoolander to do Blue Steel :)
Blushes: Radiance, Dandelion, Flushed, and Lotus
The blushes are soft and creamy. Lotus has a lilac undertone that's suitable for cool tone ladies. Flushed is my favorite color: it actually looks like I'm blushing whenever I wear it. Dandelion is a soft pink color. Radiance is warmer and more of a peach shade. I love these blushes a whole lot: they are soft, silky, and long lasting.

That's all for today. If I write any longer, I will get into a blatantly self-promotion mode and I don't want that. For those who want to be patron saints of my shop, you need to set up an Etsy account to purchase. It is quick and easy (easier than setting up an email account, in fact!) After that, you can shop at Formula D as well as other wonderful Etsy shops. I hope you will support handmade products. We do spend a lot of time perfecting our crafts to give you the best.

By the way, my big "Thank You" of the day goes to the first customer who made a purchase yesterday. You know who you are and nobody can take away your "First Customer" spot in my heart.
